🇵🇰 Azad Kashmir — Bhimber & Nakyal Regions
Al-Amaan Foundation channels its efforts into the Bhimber and Nakyal sectors of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), Pakistan — areas facing acute hardship despite their proximity to relatively water-rich regions. Though historically fertile, these communities are now battling severe water scarcity, draught, and limited basic infrastructure.
💧 The Context & Need
Recent climate shifts have caused dramatic rainfall deficits of 70–80%, drying up natural springs and reducing groundwater sources.
Many villages in Bhimber now lack piped water entirely, forcing residents—mostly women and children—to walk long distances for water or rely on expensive private water tankers that offer inconsistent relief.
The region has relatively few functioning masjids and community centres, curbing opportunities for communal prayer and education.
🎯 Al-Amaan Foundation’s Impact
Water pumps installations to provide sustainable, local access to drinking water.
Masjid & Madrasah support: construction, maintenance, and management costs.
Routine humanitarian aid: food packages, ambulance services, Qurbani distribution, and small grants.
🤝 Why Bhimber & Nakyal?
High vulnerability due to climate change, isolation, and limited infrastructure.
Areas like Nakkar Shamali and surrounding valleys report literacy >90%, yet lack of facilities impedes development.

About AL-Amaan
Al-Amaan Foundation was born from a natural desire to help others, a sincere, instinctive urge to serve the creation of Allah for His pleasure, not through an organisation, but through individuals moved by compassion and faith.
In 2010, our founder Mehrban Ali began helping families in poverty across Pakistan & Azad Kashmir, using only the support of close friends and family from the UK. There was no office, no formal charity, just trust, direct giving, and a shared concern for those suffering and in need. Motivated purely by the desire to help those struggling with poverty, every donation was hand-delivered by our trusted partners in Pakistan, every case personally assessed, and every penny used for the purpose it was given.
As word spread, so did the support and before long, more people expressed their wish to support and trust the cause. What began in a family home grew into something much bigger, a network of generous donors and sincere volunteers, all working together for one cause: to serve humanity for the pleasure of Allah.
Recognising the growing need and responsibility, we officially registered Al-Amaan Foundation as a UK charity in July 2023. Today, by the grace of Allah, we are run entirely by volunteers in both the UK and Pakistan, including a dedicated board of trustees, all working without pay.
We remain committed to our 100% Donation Policy. No wages, no admin costs, every single penny you give goes directly to those who need it most.
From our grassroots beginnings to becoming a formally registered UK-Pakistan charity, Al-Amaan Foundation remains anchored to the same values that first inspired us:
Compassion: Treating every individual with dignity and respect.
Integrity: Operating with full transparency and adherence to Islamic principles.
Community-Driven Support: Empowering donors and volunteers to serve humanity, together.
This is our story — born from simple acts of kindness, and nurtured into a registered charitable foundation committed to serving the most vulnerable, in the name of Allah (سبحانه وتعالى).
Our mission
At Al-Amaan Foundation, our mission is to relieve poverty and hardship by delivering sincere, transparent, and impactful charitable aid to the most vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
“The most beloved of people to Allah is the one who brings the most benefit to others.”
— [Hadith – al-Muʻjam al-Awsaṭ]
Our vision
Our vision is a Pakistan where every individual lives with dignity, free from poverty and hardship, empowered through education, and guided by the values and teachings of Islam.
“Indeed, Allah commands justice…”
— Surah An-Nahl (16:90)
Values
Oversight and Accountability
All funds are tracked and accounted for with full documentation and photo evidence of spending.
Receipts are collected for every purchase.
All beneficiaries are vetted through a strict review of financial need including checks on income, assets, and dependents.
Trustees personally cross-check all reports from Pakistan.
We firmly believe that charity is an amanah (trust), and we are answerable to both the community and ultimately, to Allah.
“Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock…”
— [Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim]
OUR BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Al-Amaan Foundation is governed by a small, trusted board of volunteers who oversee all operations with full transparency and sincerity. Each trustee plays an active role in managing donations, overseeing projects, vetting beneficiaries, and upholding our 100% Donation Policy. All trustees work entirely free of charge, giving their time, skills, and energy fisabilillah, for the sake of Allah. We are a family-founded charity built on trust, personal accountability, and service to the Ummah.
